I've just launched at Cates`Park [9:30], and am paddling off to Deep Cove.
Bliss!
Paddling along the rocky Cates Park shoreline.
There are times when I wish I had a better camera (always!), but especially when a heron presents itself on top of the pilings.
Entering an area of multi-million dollar homes... and boats (and boat houses, it seems).
The was a bit of a current near the edge of Grey rock.
Grey Rock to port and Indian Arm ahead.
Grey Rock: there was a noticable current due to the outgoing tide.
Deep Cove ahead: around the point and then to the left.
One of "hundreds" of private docks along the shoreline.
Tranquility along Indian Arm.
Deep Cove to port -- Indian Arm, and a whole lot of adventure, straight ahead. The adventure will have to wait. Today I've just enough time for Deep Cove.
Hello! What's this? Instructions how what to flush, and where?
Welcome to Deep Cove!
Does it get much nicer than this?
Marina and northern shore of Deep Cove.
Northern shore of Deep Cove.
Deep Cove kayak rental shack and "downtown" ahead.
Who wouldn't want to live here? Along the Deep Cove shore.
Last of the million dollar properties before I round the bend (ahead to the right) and paddle along the Cates Park shoreline.
Cates Park to starboard, with the Roche Point beacon immediately ahead.
Rocky beaches along the Cates Park shoreline.
The Cates Park boat launch is just around the corner, to the right.
Approaching the Roche Point beacon. Second Narrows (with Iron Workers Memorial Bridge) in the distance.
